WHICH IS THE RIGHT MODE OF BAPTISM: IMMERSION OR POURING?

The Holy Catholic Church has always been accused of performing an unbiblical manner of baptism as she was always seen just pouring water on the candidate’s head. The anti-Catholics argued that the biblical baptism is through immersion and not pouring as the term baptism itself came from the Greek word baptizein which means to plunge or immerse. But that is clear a manifestation of the anti-Catholics’ absolute ignorance on the doctrines of the Church. Why? Because the Holy Catholic Church baptizes not only by means of pouring of water on the head but also of plunging the whole body into the water. In the Catechism, it clearly states: “The essential rite of Baptism consists in immersing the candidate in water or pouring water on his head, while pronouncing the invocation of the Most Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” (CCC 1278). That is definitely very clear. Do not be misled.
